Board directors are nominated and voted into office by the members of the HHAA for the primary purpose of managing the affairs of the HHAA. Board directors are elected to six-year terms. In addition, Steve, Wanda and George Cooksley have been honored with life-time seats on the HHAA Board. The Board of Directors is responsible for electing its officers from among the Board. Board officers serve two-year terms.

Breeders Board

The Breeders Board consists of the president, registrar, and at large members appointed by the president to serve six year terms.

The duties of the Breeders Board are as follows:
1. Final authority on all rules regarding the registry (excluding fees)
2. Determine into which book outside bloodlines are placed and how their offspring may be registered
3. In general – be the caretakers of the genetic pool which makes up the horses registered with the corporation.
